They should have been preparing makeshift hospitals since March.

Does going to the hospital really even change much? I remember reading that those who needed a respirator were $#@!ed to begin with.

Go ahead, create thousands of new beds to prepare for any onslaught of patients. Doesn't matter as you can't find enough nurses and respiratory techs to staff them.

I work at a large hospital. We close units because of lack of staff.

Right. This is the dirty little secret that the media, the bureaucrats, and the politicians are trying to hide from everyone. The hospitals are not, and never were, in any real danger of being overwhelmed. It's just another piece of panic porn meant to keep everyone afraid and compliant with these draconian measures. I just find it amusing that they keep coming back to this talking point despite having had months to make preparations. Lots of people will be asking themselves the question: Why aren't they prepared this time around?

Hospitals should have been preparing for the worst case scenario. So why didn't they? What have they been doing this entire time?

Because they know its all BS.

This, "second wave" had to happen because the democrats swore it would, its just more fear mongering.

Hospitals weren't overwhelmed the first time, as was evident by the numbers of ventilators they gave back and, the dismantled makeshift hospitals, shortly after they were put up.
