Joe Biden has reacted to President Trump's suggestion he might fire Dr Anthony Fauci, saying that if elected he would "hire" the top infectious disease expert.
As an aside, I think it is hilarious that Donnie Two Scoops can't just summarily fire Fauci.

Fauci has been around for 5 administrations. Trump chooses his time and place to fire people. Fauxi (misspelled on purpose) is like a weed with very deep and tough roots. He'll be dealt with eventually.

Fauci is a career civil servant. Unlike political appointees, career civil servants cannot be summarily fired. They have to be fired for cause, and the required burden of proof is considerable.
