We had something like this happen back in September, except they didn't hit anyone.

Plane lands on a Knoxville, Tennessee, highway after running out of fuel (wcvb.com)

If a plane hit me like that, I'd be pissed.

My dad flew his entire life and for many years, his own plane. 30 years ago he blew an engine about a mile and a half from the nearest airport. He somehow managed to drop the plane on the runway with no bruises and minimal damage. I trusted him completely as a pilot, but in his later years, I questioned his wisdom, but never his courage or independence. I suppose defying the 9/11 no flying order was questionable.
