Idea for a new sub forum

Evidently there are some who have a problem with the fact that this is a public and open forum. These people seem to believe that others can't join in a discussion without their approval.

Why not not develop a sub forum where participants need an invitation from the thread creator? .The creator can extend this invitation or people can request the invitation.

    Is this possible?

I could go for that if there was a provision that said the thread starter could not thread ban anyone he invited to join the discussion.

I'm talking about a general discussion forum with multiple participants. Not a "one on one" thing.

Technically, a "one on one" debate has included more than two people previously.

We do have Groups. That is invite only. But you don't get a notice when someone posts to it, so if you are interested in it you have to go there often.

There are zero threads in the "one on one debate room". Obviously a one on one debate isn't a popular concept here. I can see why that's the case.

I think the time has come to seriously consider my idea. There's always resistence to new ideas. That's normal.

Threads are no longer visible after a period of inactivity. We didn't have many one on one threads- probably under 10.
