Sometimes we don't even know. Last summer I went to Price Chopper, and while there saw they had salmon filets on sale. I saw the little American flag up in the corner, and it said fresh caught in Alaska, and I didn't think any more about it. Got home, called a girlfriend to tell her about the sale, cause I knew she liked salmon too. She bought some, brought it home, and found something really important in small print on the back side. "Packaged in China". WTH?! They caught it in Alaska, and then sent it to China to be cleaned, cut and packaged??????????????

screw CHINA I have friends with family in Vietnam.A few years ago they were telling me how the Chinese had instructed rice farmers to spray their crop to dramatically increase production. Many used the chemical china supplied and it worked extremely well more than doubled the harvest. The following year the rice could not even be grown in the same area of which the chemical was used.A large portion of Vietnam then had to buy rice grown in China.Screw china.

Labels can be very deceptive and that's all kinds of wrong.

Who would think we'd catch fish here, but sent it to China to be processed and packaged?
