    Apparently so my son has told me you can buy parts of a Bitcoin, when I asked about how much he had invested he told me he bought a quarter of a Bitcoin, at the time a Bitcoin was £8k so my son invested £2k
    today a full Bitcoin is worth what £20k? If correct he has earned £3k profit.

    That is correct. One can buy fractional BTC. BTC is much more mainstream than most realize. There is a BTC ATM less than a mile from me. PayPal and many others accept BTC also.
