Nope! One of my sons is the Brain of Britain (so he believes) he has been investing in bitcoins and others for years.

Apparently so my son has told me you can buy parts of a Bitcoin, when I asked about how much he had invested he told me he bought a quarter of a Bitcoin, at the time a Bitcoin was £8k so my son invested £2k
today a full Bitcoin is worth what £20k? If correct he has earned £3k profit.

That is correct. One can buy fractional BTC. BTC is much more mainstream than most realize. There is a BTC ATM less than a mile from me. PayPal and many others accept BTC also.
