    AZJim

Been thinking about Jim a little.

He was a very active member here a little more than a year ago and for before that. Older guy who fell into bad health and I believe passed on maybe a year ago. I checked his profile and he last logged in 11/4/2019. I also noticed a newly returning member who was not aligned with Jim's politics post a cordial RIP farewell just recently, last week or two and I was touched by that.

I'm pretty sure Jim's passed on but I don't have confirmation of that. I had some offline dialogue with him a year ago but I never knew for sure, I never heard otherwise.

He was a guy who I could punch in the mouth and he'd return it, then we'd laugh it off. That's a rare quality around here and a sorely missed one at that when you could get $#@!y and nasty on the forum then check it off and be real people outside of that. Like his politics or not he was real and honest. I never had less than respect for him because of that and people here could learn from that and should.

So I'm requesting that, in line with the forum's tradition of honoring past members by putting their initials on the forum front page that Jim's initials, AZJ should be there. He was a dedicated, active and honest member. We should remember him that way.

    Thanks

I have a bad feeling nic34 may too have passed. He had a pretty bad heart attack or stroke, IIRC. I sent him a get well card a couple years ago. Another member had given me the address of the hospital he was at. He logged in once after that and then that was it.

He was last active this past April and I thought I remembered seeing him recently but my mind anymore.

I never had any offline dialogue with him so I don't know.

Ah, was he? That's good. He did post a couple times to say hi to the well wishers but that was the last I heard from him. I'm pretty sure that not in 2020.

Reports of his death may be exaggerated and let's hope.

Can’t think of anyone I disagreed with more than Jim (yeah I know, a lot of you will disagree (pun intended)) while at the same time can’t think of a more deserved individual for that honor.

You're right. He last posted in April. Weird though. I thought it was much earlier than that. 2020 was a weird year though.

AZ Jim and I had an understanding, that we came to after having it out for the better part of a year.

I finally PM'd him and just talked. He was a lonely old man, he had 2 children pass away and, then his wife, he said his grandkids only were interested in what they could get from him. He told me several times, he wished he'd just die so he could be with his wife.

I heard he'd gone into Hospice care, he had cancer.

Our last conversation I told him I was sorry for things I'd said that were mean, he said, "we're good".

    That was it.

I hope he's finally at peace, with his wife.
