Researchers since the start of the coronavirus pandemic have been examining a possible association between Covid-19 and neurological problems.

Doctors in Missouri said a 3-year-old boy experienced a stroke after he tested positive for Covid-19, in what they called a possible example of the neurological effects associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

The toddler, Colt Parris, was recuperating on Thursday at the University of Missouri’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, after surgery to address a brain clot, NBC affiliate KSN-TV reported. He is expected to make a full recovery, doctors told the outlet.

IIRC, it seems like around August, the whole world lost the thread where scientists were talking about Covid being an infection of the blood. All that news about clotting problems during the summer, and then...nothing much.

Even the science Twitters that I get updates from got distracted... or something. I guess that we can't "re-open the economy" if everyone is afraid of strokes and clots... or if people are worrying about children getting ill. But for a couple of months, the epidemiologists didn't care, they just wanted to explore the blood infection part of Covid.

And now, is the news cycle is treating the clot problems as if theya re brand new information? The disjunction between the data we see coming from labs, and the journalism that reports it to the public, is frustrating as hell.

And for the sake of being macho and manly we are putting our children at risk. A farking STROKE at age 3? FARK anti-masker asssholes! I wish I wasn't an atheist so I could wish that anti-maskers burn in Hell.
