Agreed. I understand the intent of the rule but it’s way too subjective. I think you need to know if there was intent which is next to impossible to ascertain.

It is hard to see what the intent was in these cases. The runner is a moving target. With the overall score it did not change the result but what a way end your college career; sitting in the locker room.

at least they changed that part of the rule this year. The DQed player now at least gets to stay on the sideline.
