He didn't stop the economic cannibalism practiced by these American corporations by taxing their imports and stripping them of their tax benefits/write-offs, closing all of the legal loopholes that these companies take advantage of to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. The Carrier plant in Indianapolis that manufactured air-conditioning units, visited by Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, closed down and moved its operation to Mexico. He didn't do a darn thing, to stop that from happening. Why do these companies, that are already making a profit here in the US, get to destroy our nation's manufacturing base with impunity, in order to profit from the American consumer who they are firing, forcing into unemployment? All that these capitalists care about is short-term profits at the expense of American workers (the American consumer) and our nation's national security (destroying our economy in the long-term).
The only jobs that were created during Trump's presidency were low paying service jobs and by rolling back social programs, he reduced the standard of living for working-class people. His so called "tax cuts", were for the rich, not for working families. The only good thing I can say about Trump's administration. is that we weren't plunged into another major war, but that's really taking the bar really low if that makes him a "good president".
