LOL. I sneak a lick. There is no other way. Ocasionally you can get lucky and they just sprayed the produce so you can get some moisture off a some leaves.
Now that should freak people out more than the mask.

Do you own a pair of leather gloves? Those disposable surgical type latex gloves would also work.

Clasp the bag between your hands where it opens and rub your hands back and forth.

A small charge of TNT always works. You'll lose a few fingers and take out half of the bananas but the bag will be open.
