It's beer thirty

I absolutely love IPAs. Most porters and stouts and brown ales can be a little too sweet for me. I usually drink Boddingtons, Guinness and Harpoon IPA.

When Boddingtons first came out everybody in my drinking circle would drink it.....but you’d have to drink a lot of it to get to the place you’d want to be at the end of an evening in the pub. It is pretty weak stuff.

What I drink is Abbot Ale, be assured this might be a tad too much for the North American. Abbot Ale is 5%, don’t make the mistake thinking it’s anything like your 5% piss, it’s brewed differently, it’s a pure English ale, made from hops.

If you can get some.....buy lots....it and try it. When I was a drinking man 7 pints of these was considered enough before you start talking gibberish (American) :

Boddies is a good session beer. I prefer bitters but there aren't many options in the states. Been drinking Abbots for years. Strong but not sweet. I wish I could get Theakstons and Brains in the US.

Theakstons and Brains are both fine ales. I’ve drank Brains on tap quite a few times, very consistent pint.
