At one time or another almost every cat I've ever had has done that thing where they're walking ahead of you, and instead of stepping to the side and letting you go on they stop, look back, like "OMG, he's going to step on me", then walk on another couple of feet, stop again and look back, etc.
It reminds me of those people in movies who are on foot and being chased by a car, who keep running down the middle of the street instead of ducking off into a building or alleyway.
