House Democrats push TV carriers to stop hosting Fox, OAN, and Newsmax, citing ‘misinformation’.....




Two House Democrats on Monday questioned 12 television and content providers about why they carry Fox News, One America News Network, and Newsmax, blaming the right-leaning outlets for spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories.



Democratic Reps. Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney, both from California, sent letters to television content providers such as AT&T, Roku, Comcast, and Verizon asking them why they carried the three "purported" news outlets that they say function as "misinformation rumor mills and conspiracy theory hotbeds that produce content that leads to real harm."



The Democrats asked the content carriers if they plan "to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN," and if so, why.



The letters represent Democrats' latest reactions to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump, many of whom, Democrats say, were influenced by Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax.



“Right-wing media outlets, like Newsmax, One America News Network (OANN), and Fox News all aired misinformation about the November 2020 elections,” McNerney and Eshoo wrote. “These same networks also have been key vectors of spreading misinformation related to the pandemic.”



The Democrats also sent letters to content providers such as Apple, Amazon, Charter, DISH, Cox, Altice, Hulu, and Google's parent company, Alphabet.


The House Energy and Commerce telecom subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday regarding misinformation and disinformation distributed on television networks, with a focus on the Capitol attack and the coronavirus pandemic.....snip~

Russia wanted Trump in the oval office. Trump shared top secret (code word level) information with the Russians. He ran interference for them against any sanctions that congress forced him to take against Russia. He made foreign policy decisions o please them. He would not allow transparency during his secret private meetings with Putin. He confiscated the translater notes after meeting with Putin. He said he believed Putin when Putin said he didn't interfere. he invited Russia to help. He accepted help. All of these and more reasons help explain why Putin wanted Trump in office. Trump was a puppet.

With the liberal media apparently feeling confident that President Trump will be leaving office, they seem to be acknowledging inconvenient truths about the president that they have kept buried for the last four years.
Take CNN host Fareed Zakaria, on this morning's New Day. Discussing how foreign policy might be different under a Biden administration, Zakaria began with platitudes about other countries being hopeful that the US would get "back in the game" and "help organize cooperative solutions around the world, get engaged with problem solving," on "climate change" and other issues.
But then Zakaria dropped a bombshell. Asked how things would be different with Russia, he said:


"I think in general, there isn’t going to be as much difference as people imagine. The Biden folks are pretty tough on Russia, Iran, North Korea. You know, the dirty little secret about the Trump administration was that while Donald Trump had clearly had a kind of soft spot for Putin, the Trump Administration was pretty tough on the Russians. They armed Ukraine, they armed the Poles. They extended NATO operations and exercises in ways that even the Obama Administration had not done. They maintained the sanctions. So I don’t think it will be that different."

And the obvious answer is that the liberal media/Democrats were intent on pushing Russia Russia Russia. Admitting that President Trump was in fact tough on Russia would undermine that line of attack. And so they buried it: kept it a "dirty little secret."


But Zakaria was focused on how Biden would enter back into a nuclear deal with Iran and "stabilize" that relationship, as if Iran would go back to into "cooperative solutions" mode......snip~
