No, that article outlined that the overall revenue dropped. I think income taxes did grow but the overall revenue was down. I think the total number is what matters though. However, if it works, then yeah,increase the corporate tax and reduce the income tax.

Over all revenues did decrease a bit. But because of less corporate tax revenue, not income tax revenue.

Deficits were very low back then. And those balanced budgets were more accounting tricks.

I also prefer divided government.

True but, interests were tied up anyway. You'd think that the huge balloon that is our deficit would be a more urgent issue to take care of?

The thing about division is that it kind of force them to actually come up with a solutions that addresses need of both sides. It's not perfect but that's life.

Some of the revenue came from the tariffs but those costs are passed down to the consumer. It would have been a bigger gap had it not been for tariffs.

Like I said, I don't mid higher taxes if they go to pay off the debt.
