Post There's a rare yellow penguin on So Georgia island, and biologists can't explain it

There's a rare yellow penguin on South Georgia island, and biologists can't quite explain it...

A rare penguin dazzles the world.

Black-and-white tuxedos may be the conventional dress code in the penguin world, but one dashing individual is breaking the status quo with an à la mode yellow coat. A wildlife photographer captured images of the rare penguin on a remote island in South Georgia in December 2019 and only recently released the photos. A king penguin "walked up straight to our direction in the middle of a chaos full of sea elephants and Antarctic fur seals, and thousands of other king penguins," the photographer from Belgium, Yves Adams wrote on an Instagram post. "How lucky could I be!"

His lack of pigmentation will make him vulnerable to predators.

I don't think there are any natural predators on South Georgia Island. There was a large ice burg heading there that could possibly block them from their primary feeding waters.

It doesn't have many animals other than penguins and seals. They culled all of the reindeer because they were messing up the island.

The arctic fur seal is a predator of penguins, as are killer whales and sharks.

I was curious also, but it appears the predators for a grown penguin are all marine (sharks, seals...) where the white underbelly would be exposed like any other penguin. Birds only appear to go after chicks and the eggs.

I'm glad that someone hasn't landed here and made this metaphorically about R's and D's or Libs/Cons etc. I try to post these things specifically to avoid politics.
