Post He built homes for the homeless, so the city sued him...

He built homes for the homeless, so the city sued him... Toronto carpenter Khaleel Seivwright has been building ‘tiny shelters’ for the city’s many homeless people. The city says they are dangerous. He says the city is doing nothing to help the unhoused.

A Toronto carpenter, whose work to build miniature, winterized shelters for the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic has , Khaleel Seivwright called out the city for its “terrible” reputation in providing shelter to the unhoused, and said the move to proceed with legal action is a “distraction” from the city’s own failures at taking care of its most at-risk populations.

Sometimes you just have to wonder about people......a man trying to give homeless people a place to sleep, gets sued.

Government does not like to look as incompetent as it is but I have to wonder if the real issue is where he is putting the shelters.

Its making government look inept and that's the only reason for the threat .
20 years ago I got fed up with a stretch of highway that was filthy so on Sat mornings I would go out and pick up the litter and bring it to the dumps . Most of it was from trucks not properly securing the garbage they were bringing to that dump .
The town threatened me with fines and I had to stop - they stated that I was a possible safety hazard as I could get hit by vehicles and the town may be liable . The actual problem was that I was doing the the job that town workers were being paid to do - but weren't and they weren't going to admit that there's a productivity problem with government union workers .

According to the article he is putting them on City property so that does give them a lot of public safety authority.

But if the same Government is allowing unsafe tent cities and other public loitering/occupation then why is this a bad thing?
