After many years of data to look back and reflect upon , the cost of feeding the military industrial complex , and cost of conducting military adventures abroad , since the Vietnam War , all at the expense of the American people , has been the single most influential factor to cause the US decline , both domestically and internationally . Throw in total financial mismanagement by The FED , and a few truck loads of industrial strength corporate greed , and it should be a surprise to no one what America is currently facing .

Because no matter who's president , the policy remains the same . It's the presidency itself that's the problem. The office has been compromised for a long time . Big problem , which I think you are finding out . I realize Trump gave hope to a lot of people , but he didn't deliver , because he was only the president , and presidents aren't allowed to "deliver" .......not for the people , anyway .

That would depend on when the office was actually compromised ....Personally , I think the assassination of JFK was when the rot set in . Anything earlier than that , and I was just a kid .

well, it was so compromised that Lincoln was killed............so, I guess that makes Lincoln responsible for your pitiful and emotional rant about aircraft.....got it.....lol
Then lets go all the way back to Washington...............he's probably even more guilty.......
$#@!ing build your own aircraft, that is if China allows it.

That's well said, thanks for the commentary. I agree with you wholeheartedly; it's sad that people don't dig deep enough to understand these conclusions. Oh the right will complain about federal spending, but only as it applies to social services that go against their political grain without considering the macrocosm. Last year the military budget total was 663 billion dollars. Now admittedly covid caused the US to spend far more on social services than before, but it was a national emergency. The military industrial complex has been a financial black hole as you point out, since Vietnam and Mcnamara quantified everything while skimping on M16 chamber coating and and ball powder that got a lot of guys killed over there.

I have always said two things happened in this country where our apparent demise is concerned: one, the JFK assassination and two, Vietnam. The very things that you have pointed out that opened the door to a cascade corruption in this country's government(s). I think that the real corruption began under Nixon, not because he was Nixon or a Republican, but because about 1974 /5, right when the oil embargo was going away; that was when money went crazy in this country, prices began to get out of hand, there was a lot of shuffling and then the Democrats began to get on the money train with the Republicans who invented it. The welfare of the country took a back seat right then and there and our representative government never looked back. US politics have been ratcheted up (the operative word) to a point wherein corruption has great cover for anything it wants to do. Looking back on history to make informed decisions on what happened and how it got fixed is easy. Being IN history is hard.
