Post How to remember a disaster without being shattered by it...

How to remember a disaster without being shattered by it... Margaret McKinnon survived a midair catastrophe, then became a major researcher of memory and trauma. Now she’s studying how the pandemic will haunt us.

This is a good article. There's so much that I couldn't figure out what to cut and paste because I thought it would not do justice to the article to do so - so I am just leaving the title. It is about PTSD and coping.

here are many forms of PTSD. I suffer from it and have since the day I picked my son's ashes up at the funeral home.
    That day I relive everyday.
I never had this severe an experience from the time spent in 'Nam. I had plenty of time to work past those days. I do not have enough time, now.

"Now she’s studying how the pandemic will haunt us."

It's not the "pandemic" that will haunt us, but the insane overreaction accompanied by naked totalitarianism.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

It's a lot to work through, I've been trying/going through the motions since 2002.

I know what you're going through.

The Government's response to this virus is undoubtedly the most blatant abuse of power in American history. It's going to haunt us for decades to come, because seeing that they're getting away with it now, they'll do it again. Comparing it to an airline engine failure is an odd connection.

Imagine how far they will go if we have a stiuation in the future where more than 1% of the population is at risk.

My first great-grand child drowned at 18 months. I have never moved past it. I can't think of him without crying.
