Whether or not the ornaments in the Covid-relief package represent a good idea is something that reasonable people may debate.

One thing that is beyond debate, though, is this: They are entirely irrelevant to the matter of Covid relief.

So why are they stuffed into this package, instead of being the focus of a separate bill?

Simple: No one wants to be targeted by the Democrats for having voted against "Covid relief."

So the Democrats are really holding Republican lawmakers hostage--rather than just being honest.

I don't trust politician's words , and I don't trust their motives , which are usually driven by vested interests , usually those who "donate" to them . One thing doesn't change - if the government is offering money , TAKE IT , and don't question....then keep pushing them for more.....before they OWE it to you , and you deserve it .
