After nearly a year of treating New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo like the second coming of Christian savior Jesus Christ, a few Hollywood celebrities are kind of finally beginning to turn against him, though not over his nursing home scandal.
Rather, celebrities like Ashley Judd and Eva Longoria are turning against the governor — though not directly — over accusations of sexual harassment and bullying.
On Thursday the Time’s Up Foundation, a group formed amid the emergence of the #MeToo movement, released a statement calling for a “full and independent investigation” into the growing accusations against the embattled governor.
Both Judd and Longoria reportedly happen to be members of the group’s board.
“As reported widely yesterday, a former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo published an essay yesterday, detailing sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior she allegedly endured while working for the Governor. The Cuomo administration has denied the allegations,” Time’s Up president and CEO Tina Tchen said.
“Allegations of inappropriate behavior in any workplace are deeply troubling and should be addressed. We call on the Cuomo administration to conduct a full and independent investigation into these claims immediately.”
