Why are American companies buying them? The same thing happened to our steel industry and tech industry. Could be cheaper manufacturing’s means higher profits?

China subsidized its companies so they could dump (legal term) solar panels on the use market at very low prices. It bankrupted US solar panel companies.

People bought them because they were cheaper. But they were crap. Most had to be replaced inside of 3 years.

You are not addressing my point. Why? Tariffs have nothing to do with what I said. In fact tariffs are legitimate to combat dumping (legal term).
