Some of these books were drawn in the 1930's, 40's and 50's. I think that most of us are familiar with the more common, rather offensive, racial stereotypes commonly depicted during those years. Given that these are books, I think it's possible to replace the offensive stereotypes with more respectful drawings, without adversely affecting the stories.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

Someone has to tell me what is wrong with the kids book.
Why?! Why should they be rewritten/drawn just to soothe the fragile psyches of the people who see racism everywhere and, who take offense to everything under the sun?
$#@! those snowflakes, if they find Dr. Seuss offensive, they don't have to buy/read the books.
I'm $#@!ing sick and tired of the way a group of people is being pandered to, just because their little feelings are hurt.
Are you also for rewriting history, as to not offend anyone TODAY because of things that happened 200 YEARS AGO, or more?
Grow the $#@! up, people, get off your pity pots and live for TODAY, not your great...great grandparents time!

Let's rewrite the Quran. Some of it was offensive. Then we can rewrite the Bible. Then the history books.
After all, who could not get upset by a book where a boy character says he saw a Chinese man running while eating with sticks. They still eat with chopsticks in China. That is still unusual for a boy in a non-Asian country to see.
They are just a bunch of idiots on the left.
Perhaps, the thinking of the rights owners is that by re-animating the books Seuss' genius can be brought to even more people of many different generations in the future.
Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect. -- Woody Hayes
No one saw anything wrong with Dr. Seuss books until now.
No other generation saw racism in them.
No other generation was offended by them.
The left just keeps pushing to see how far they can go and, how many things they can change.
Until one day, we're all living under THEIR rule of law.
