I have to wonder how feral she was. I have never had one that trusting until some significant time passed. My doctor asked me if I raised roses because my hands and lower arms were so marked up.

Homeless, no doubt, but definitely not feral. She seemed to be very well socialized.

Shortly after we moved to Arizona my wife's very old tortoiseshell kitty disappeared and we didn't see her for a few days. Temperatures were over 110 degrees, and the wife had resigned herself to the loss of the cat she'd rescued as a kitten in Bermuda 16 years before. I'd been working all night and wanted to go to sleep, but the thought that Oliver might be out there somewhere needing help wouldn't let me - so I went out once again, walking around the neighborhood, calling her name and doing the kitty-kitty-kitty thing. A few houses down, on the next block, I heard a very faint meow. (Fortunately acute hearing is my super-power.) There she was, on the flat roof of a house for sale. I walked back to our house, brought back a ladder and effected the rescue. Once inside, she drank water for several minutes and went immediately to sleep. How she lasted that long in the blazing sun with no water or shelter I'll never know.

Cats are funny little creatures. Aloof to be sure...but there are times when they are more than willing to show their thankfulness for rescue, food, help.

Yeah probably more homeless than anything ..but when you see a cat like that ..you don't know about her past
Maybe after all somebody just did dumped her in that area and she found a way to hide
and was happy to see someone who did care

Yeah they are the best. Eldad was doing it when he was a kid in Israel. He was saving cats
Now he try to save any animals in trouble

I've got a calico that definitely falls in the aloof category. But, I've got a long-hair black cat that acts like he's a dog. Always wanting in my lap, always wanting to be petted, LOVES to be hugged tight. He was left behind when a family moved from the neighborhood. When I first met him he was rough-housing with a pit bull ;o))
