Post The U.S. Government Is Begging You to Destroy Moss Balls

The U.S. Government Is Begging You to Destroy Moss Balls - Zebra mussels showed up in imported aquarium accessories across 32 states. Ecologists want your help killing them.

These things have decimated the great lakes. Water intake pipes. Shorelines. Docks. Everything is covered with them.

We were starting to have a problem with them in Cherokee Lake TN just before I moved away. They would get sucked into the water intake of boats causing the motors to overheat. Too much clean water I guess.

These things are like the Hydrilla that clogs lakes from Florida to Texas. These are plants that resemble seaweed salad and were originally imported for aquariums. It didn't sell well so aquarium stores started dumping them in lakes and streams and the rest is history. This started up in the mid 80's as well.
