    New Dead Sea Scrolls Found

Israeli experts discover new Dead Sea Scrolls

Israeli archaeologists on Tuesday announced the discovery of dozens of new Dead Sea Scroll fragments bearing a biblical text found in a desert cave and believed hidden by Jewish refugees during a Jewish revolt against Rome nearly 1,900 years ago.

The Dead Sea Scrolls, a collection of Jewish texts found in desert caves near the Dead Sea, in Qumran, in the 1940s and 1950s, date from the third century B.C. to the first century A.D. They include the earliest known copies of biblical texts and documents outlining the beliefs of a little understood Jewish sect.

The newly found fragments of parchment bear lines of Greek text from the books of Zechariah and Nahum and have been radiocarbon-dated to the second century A.D., according to the Israel Antiquities Authority.

These scrolls are the first new scrolls found in archaeological excavations in the desert south of Jerusalem in 60 years, discovered in a complex operation on the cliffs of the Judean Desert. The scrolls were retrieved from the Cave of Horror in the Judean Desert reserve of Nahal Hever, about 80 meters below the cliff top, by clinging to ropes, in excavations which started in 2017.

The fragments are believed to have been stashed away in the cave during the Bar Kochba Revolt, an armed Jewish uprising against Rome during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, between 132 and 136 A.D.

The operation uncovered additional finds from various periods: rare coins from approximately 2,000 years ago, a 6,000 year old skeleton of a child, likely female, wrapped in cloth and mummified, and what may be the oldest surviving basket in the world, made of woven reeds.

The fragments are believed to have been stashed away in the cave during the Bar Kochba Revolt, an armed Jewish uprising against Rome during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, between 132 and 136 A.D.
Roman's Legion IX suppressed that uprising and disappeared from the historical record.

Roman coins from that era, Jewish coins from that era, and other artifacts have been found in America's northeast and the Ohio River Valley. There was an artifact discovered in a Cherokee grave mound and the Smithsonian displayed it from the mid-1800s. In the 1950s a Jewish rabbi saw the display and said, you have it upside down. The translation is the war cry of the Bar Kochba Revolt- Star of the son- translated as the comet. The name of the leader of the revolt.

How did that end up in North America?

Think there's any association with Oak Island?

If these are like the last discovery they will have two things in common:

    1. The Text identified as within the Bible will be remarkably the same after 2000 years!

    2. The Text that have since been removed by various Councils and Church authorities will stand out!

Yes. I started looking into it more yesterday after listening to a podcast and then saw this thread. There is a fiction book about the 9th (probably just a small number of the leaders) coming to North America, and the author incorporates the known facts into his book, and of course adds in poetic license. But the evidence he uncovered is a lot of coincidences as to how Roman and Jewish artifacts from the 2nd Century ended up in the North East and Ohio River Valley- from the same time period as an entire Roman legion disappears from the historic record. Odd considering that Rome tended to keep detailed records of everything.

Over the years many Roman coins* from the time period of the disappearance of Legion IX have washed up on the shores nearby Oak Island.

*Roman coins are easy to date because they are stamped with the face of the current emperor.
