I thought having a boat would be great......until we got one.

I think we used it 3 times on Lake Mead, before we got bored with it.....maybe we just weren't boat people.

We hauled it from Nevada to Arizona and, sold it.

We used ours a lot. As my dad got older his back got worse and he sold it. But we got a lot of meals out of that boat. It was not uncommon to eat fish 3 times a week and we could have eaten more.

One of my friends bought a brand new 42 foot power boat about five years ago. He paid somewhere around 325k got this boat. He used it very little, so he decided to get out of boating.

He tried to sell it on his own with no luck. So he listed it with a local yacht broker. He listed it for 290k. Four hours after listing he got a full price. He told the broker to accept the offer. The broker called him a few minutes later and said he just received a higher offer.

It turned that he has four offers and evolved into a bidding war. He sold the boat for what paid for it brand new.

Between travel restrictions and reduced domestic mobility, dealerships and major manufacturers in both sectors have seen some of their biggest dips since the Great Recession. But out on America’s waterways, another mode of transport has thrived…

Boats are booming -- According to a report by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), sales of boats and related marine gear hit $47B in 2020 -- a 9% bump from 2019, and a 13-year high. Per Boating Industry[/I], all types of big-boy water toys saw a bump in 2020:
    • Freshwater fishing boats and pontoons: 143k units (+12%)
    • Personal watercraft (Jet Ski, Sea Doo): 82k units (+8%)
    • Wake boats: 13k units (+20%)

Boats are called holes in the water you throw money into. That said I have had sailboats and motorboats, my favorite motorboat was a 60's Beuhler Turbocraft, the first jet boats made. Looked like this picture. Many had V8s but mine had a straight six. Now I have an airplane, a hole in the sky to throw money into.

When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.
