The cops clearly saw the truck and should be able to figure out what happened. That is unless they grow them really stupid in Oregon and recent evidence seems to point directly to that being true.

He should move to my state where the Castle Doctrine extends to your vehicle and he could have taken them all out for touching his car.

I suspect the governor told them to stand down...

That eliminates their usefulness as cops and they should save money and defund them.

That's right. They don't hire cops to be stupid in Conservative areas. Around here you expect people to have a gun. If they don't then they moved down from the north recently. It is why crime is low. Thanks for asking.

I understand your point. Look to that movie "Inside Man" where it was impossible to tell who were the robbers and who were the patrons. He had a gun, they didn't, just being an $#@! is not a crime. Unless the police saw evidence these particular people vandalized the truck they just don't know who did what to who, they only know one person had a gun.

BTW, we have the Castle Doctrine here in Florida but that does not mean you can willy nilly gun down someone for touching your truck. There have been at least two incidents here were someone was physically attacked, shot their assailant and went to jail anyway.

If I were carrying concealed in a public place and an active shooter popped up, probably my greatest fear in engaging him with my own weapon - aside from accidentally killing a bystander - would be that another armed citizen would see me with gun drawn and assume that I was the problem. Just as the police can't be expected to arrive on a scene and know instantly who the good guys and bad guys are, even less so the average citizen, however well intended he or she may be. I support the right to go armed in public, in most cases; I'm just saying that, particularly in a chaotic situation, being seen with a firearm in your hand may be extremely hazardous to one's health.

You are giving the cops too much credit. They watched it and knew 100% the trucks were being attacked. They waited until someone got mad. It's like watching a shooter kill 20 people and say to themselves, we can get or arrest him when he leaves the area. We are just here to watch.

Just like in Raleigh, the cops were called out because of their actions. A two lane road, the cops were on the other side, 6 of them watching a woman and her child car being attacked and not respond. The driver was calling 911, she could see the cops watching and they did nothing. She told the 911 operators the cops were right there. She had to get out the car and fight them after many calls. You would think cops would not just stand there, but they did. It took a lot of people calling them out, local media showing their cowardly acts to change it.

Carry conceal types need to realize they are not law enforcement and should take it upon themselves to act as a cop. You carry to defend yourself and your family. Not police any area you are in.

You are right, if you roll up one someone armed you don't know the situation and who is the good guy and who is the bad guy.
