This is staged political theatre. A commercial.

"We're on the banks of the Rio Grand. And across the river we can hear the sounds of cartel members taunting us"

Taunting? Really? Are they? Is that what they do? Instead of delivering the package and then leaving in the middle of the night they hurl insults? What purpose does that serve? None. They are not taunting anyone. The politicians in this political ad are simply milking this for all it's worth.

Are kids coming across the border? Sure. How big a problem you think that is will depend on your politics. But turning back kids feels wrong.

Border policy needs tweaking. Make adults with children undergo DNA/blood test to verify blood relations. If there is no match send the adult back.

Dems are not worried that the administration is trying to make a harsh example to would be immigrants.
Dems are not worried that kids are being ripped from their parents arms.
Dems are not worried that the admin is deallocating resources.
Under the previous admin, "cruelty was the point."

Dems know that resources are being expanded in the area and kids are not being torn away.
That's why they are not worried.

Still, they should be going down there more often.
