Like most people who misuse and abuse that quote, you obviously have no clue about what Scalia meant by that.

Of course the Second is not unlimited. It has always been limited. What you and the other uneducated unwashed can't seem to grasp is the that those limits were set in 1791. Madison himself discussed those limits during the debates before ratification. He made the point that although the citizenry should be in possession of of arms that would give them parity with conventional infantry forces, there was no need for a civilian to own as he put it, "naval cannon".

He was not opposed to local militias owning cannons, but he (and the Framers) believed heavy artillery should not be in possession of private citizens. This of course, is why I just shake my head in disgust when people like you throw out that Scalia quote or say other stupid things like "Well, why don't we allow people to have nukes, then?"

So, Scalia was correct in saying the Second Amendment is not unlimited. Unlike you however, he knew the limits were set 230 years ago.

But those who quote Holmes might want to actually read the case where the phrase originated before using it as their main defense. If they did, they'd realize it was never binding law, and the underlying case, U.S. v. Your attempt to draw any important distinction between "absolute" and "without limit" in this context is silly. I may not like some of the measures President Biden proposes, but what he said was correct, insofar as it goes.

Ammendments , as you know, are the Constitution and are absolute. Just because the Courts have caved to poltiical pressure over the years and "interpreted" plain spoken law to mean something else dioes not negate that fact. Joe Biden nor his team are fans of the Constitution

One thing that people who like to throw out that Scalia quote tend to overlook is something else that Scalia said. He made the point that when trying to interpret the Constitution, one particular thing was absolutely necessary.

Any time the word "shall" appears in the Constitution, that is a COMMAND. It is not a recommendation, a suggestion, or something to think about. It is a COMMAND, not subject to discussion or debate.

Knowing that, one has to wonder what part of "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" the Left does not understand.

I have challenged anti-gunners for years to show me founder's quotes which back the "militia obnly" mantra and no one has ever produced one.
