Republicans should support taxing large companies at a very high rate.

Even better would be taxing them at 60%! As I have mentioned before, I am not Conservative. I support Welfare State! I support helping poor and disabled people!

If Republicans propose this, many Socialists and some Liberals will join them! A win-win proposal.

I agree 100%. What would Leon Trotsky have done to modern Woke corporations?

I am sorry. Conservatives and Classical Liberals do have differences. But we have more in common!

"Classical liberals" don't advocate confiscatory tax rates. You seem very confused.

True, for example JFK significantly cut tax "rates" that gave us a prosperous economy that was soon squandered by LBJ and the Great Society Fail!

And we still pay for that experiment today with all this race based resentment.

A National Sales Tax to replace corporate taxes makes far more sense.

Corporations cannot make money because they have nothing that they can do with money that serves them.
The taxable event should be when it is passed down to management and stockholders. That is where they should be hit at capital gains that are the same as normal income tax rates.

Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos.... earn their money versus capital gains, not salary. That reduces the from the top bracket of 37% to 21%.

You are after the wrong thing by trying to take money from an entity that will just increase the price to the customers. The problem is that the penalty of the corporate tax hits US manufactures much harder than those that they can import from. You punish the US economy. You hurt export sales.

If you want to be a redistributionist then remember that, in the end the USA consumer pays the taxes in the US. Make everything a personal income tax and everything as a part of the general fund.
Every time you raise a cost then a business will respond by raising the price. A tax is a cost. It is planned for and built into the price.
If you get the IRS out of business then they make good business decisions instead of decisions for tax benefits. You also wipe out tens of thousands of IRS
jobs and needs for audits and court cases.

So you will do exactly the opposite, of what you propose to do with your ideas.

That is what happens when you depend on emotion. In spirit,I would love to crush Amazon, Woke-a-Cola, Mike and these woke corporations. But you feed the cattle to get more meat not starve it.

I don't believe it would lead to an increase in revenue. It's not a non-negotiable issue for me though.

Corporations don't pay taxes CCitizen their consumers do and cost increases of their goods and services would most assuredly hurt the poor and disabled.

If you re-read the exchange to which you've alluded, I think you will see that it was Peter who brought up CC's alleged autism. (My response was to the effect that I have no idea whether his condition affects or inspires his beliefs, and the fact is that I don't care.) In Peter's defense, I believe he thought he was being kind and charitable to CC and in that vein was remonstrating with me concerning the brusqueness of my responses. I don't believe he was being a jerk so much as he was coming to the defense of someone whom he felt needed to be protected, not to say coddled.
