It has only been recently when they started taking in massive refugees that it started to be a huge problem. Personally, though, I think the mutual assistance pact signed between Iran and China in early April, was the major event I predicted that will affect the whole world. ...or maybe it is something else entirely.
Both the French and European migrant problems would be automatically 3/4 solved if the US got it's arse out of Syria , and stopped interfering , so Syria could rebuild properly , and take it's people back . It would also greatly assist stability in the whole ME region.

I agree that the US shouldn't be in Syria. But France and Europe shouldn't wait to return their migrants.

All the more reason to ditch Macron as soon as possible.

The migrant problem, as it were, predates and extends far beyond the conflict in Syria.

It began to accelerate with the invasion of Iraq , and escaping war-zones has since become the dominant reason for the increase .

The current migrant crisis that the French generals are talking about started ~2011.

It is the highpoint of decades of public frustration with migration.

BTW, the French generals referred to far more than a current migrant crisis in their letter.
