    Atheists and anti-theists

Have others noticed how few atheists there are nowadays (in the traditional sense of the term), and how many rabid anti-theists there are?

The latter are not simply unbelievers; they are people who utterly despise religion in general (and especially Christianity, it would seem).

    Any thoughts here?

The Quiet Confident Atheist is like the Quiet Vegan..............RARE and getting even more so.

On the other hand those who use their alleged Atheism to constantly attack the alleged Evils of Religion (especially Christian) are growing in number.

You will also see this among certain so-called Skeptics groups who pretend what they do is science. But what they are actually doing is motivated by an ideology that says religion and other various beliefs are not just wrong but bad for society. That is not science, that is a form of social and political advocacy.

I know a few atheists. I do not know any anti-theists.

There is not much more to say than there is a lack of evidentiary support for one or more gods.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

Some people just need a coping crutch to get through life, usually in the form of one type of god or the other.

Not my gig and I regard them as mostly harmless and not difficult to live with as long as
they do not try to force their thinking on the rest of us with constant annoying proselytizing.

As are a number of the theists.

I would argue there's no rational argument for God's existence/non-existence, you either accept one or the other on faith, if you will, the same as you might accept the premises of the scientific method. From that faith, if you will, both the atheist and theist can argue completely rationally--but not anti-theists.
