Just like dogs, cats come in varying degrees of smart and dumb.

For example, my one girl, I'd try the laser pointer with her, she'd be "It's just a speck of light, monkey. Stop bothering me, and go fix dinner."

On one occasion, she put together a fairly complex plan to rescue the kitten from the dogs next door. Immediately after, she let me know that she still hated that kitten. She just hated the dogs more. Yes, she mainly used her intelligence to hate and to kill things.

The good thing about cats? The dumb ones can't do much damage, due to size. A big dumb dog is a wrecking machine.
