    Critical thinking

The other day some goofball equated Critical Theory with critical thinking. There's no equation that ties the two together. In fact, critical thinking destroys Critical Theory. Critical thinking is all about having good reasons for our opinions. Here's a brief introduction.

Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire. ― Gustav Mahler

If you are referring to actual critical thinking, I believe the 'critical' comes from the idea that one should be critical of what is presented and view it from all angles to find it's faults i.e., be critical of it.

Too many people do not know how to apply logic and/or critical thinking. They accept what they are told without looking for the flaws.

I advise a great deal of caution whenever you read or hear the words critical thinking without proper context. The phrase is often abused to imply that "I'm right and your wrong" without argument.

If this is in reference to CRT then that would be a "criticism" of long accepted US History and Race for example. But it does not make the arguments they make valid just because they are trying to re-write our history.

right, CRT, a branch of CR, doesn't employ critical thinking in its criticism.
