Tennessee ban on teaching critical race theory gets state Assembly OK

    The backlash continues.

Tennessee ban on teaching critical race theory gets state Assembly OK: Gov. Bill Lee's office says he supports the proposal

The Tennessee General Assembly has advanced a proposed ban on the teaching of critical race theory.

....State Sen. Brian Kelsey, a Republican from Memphis, argued that teaching the theory would be "harmful to our students."

"Critical Race Theory teaches that American democracy is a lie. It teaches that the rule of law does not exist & is instead a series of power struggles among racial groups. It is harmful to our students & is antithetical to everything we stand for as Americans & as Tennesseans," Kelsey tweeted Wednesday.

He proposed an addition to the bill that would forbid teaching students that "the rule of law does not exist, but instead is a series of power relationships and struggles among racial or other groups," the paper reported.

"That is the very definition of critical race theory," Kelsey added. "I was subject to this teaching 20 years ago in law school and know it very well, and that is the very definition of it."...

    But

...On Tuesday, Arkansas passed legislation banning critical race theory (CRT) “indoctrination” in public agencies and prohibiting the state from promoting collective guilt, segregation, racial stereotyping or scapegoating.

Idaho was the first state to ban public schools from promoting CRT last month, followed by Oklahoma. Similar proposals are currently being considered by state lawmakers in Texas and Tennessee....

The Repubs need to keep it rolling. Every Republican controlled State. 27 of them. Announcing 27 days in a row. Let the Left see they dont have the majority. Same deal with Tightening Election security and Integrity. Let Joey and Team know they wont be able to play the race card anymore.

It's funny to watch the media squirm about CRT. Here is MSN on The Republican Push to Ban Critical Race Theory Reveals an Ugly Truth:

Critics of CRT often allege that its proponents hate America, or they claim that CRT portrays all white people as evil. They allege that the theory encourages segregation, indoctrination, or Marxism. None of these claims are true: Critical race theory is not about hating white people or America. It is about acknowledging the structural and institutional biases purposefully created by the Founders, codified into the Constitution, and then perpetuated by future generations.
It is as we've seen all about demonizing whites. It is as we've seen a basis for identity politics. It is as we've read again and again derivative of Marxism.

Earlier in the same article, it is stated that "Critical race theory was developed by legal scholars and academics including Derrick Bell, Robert Cover, and Kimberlé Crenshaw."

Crenshaw is the originator of intersectionality, iow, identity politics, within the framework of CRT. CRT derives from Critical Legal Theory. Bell and Cover were advocates of Critical Legal Theory, a branch of Critical Theory. According to Derrick Bell: "Bell and other legal scholars began using the phrase "critical race theory" (CRT) in the 1970s as a takeoff on "critical legal theory", a branch of legal scholarship that challenges the validity of concepts such as rationality, objective truth, and judicial neutrality. Critical legal theory was itself a takeoff on critical theory, a philosophical framework with roots in Marxist thought." Bell is mentioned repeatedly in IS CRITICAL RACE THEORY ROOTED IN MARXISM? The Arizona House just passed a bill aimed at quashing CRT, but it targets (and proposes to fine) individual teachers, and it also seems to be overreaching and vague in some of its provisions. I'm not sure if the Governor will sign it, and even if he does I have my doubts about its survival in the courts. They may have to take another run at it.

These Fight Back stories are important because they bring CRT to the attention of people who might otherwise know nothing about this.

Public Schools are very good at underhanded indoctrination tactics. Parents often know little unless a student tells them they are learning something that makes them uncomfortable.
