For many the Confederate Flag is a symbol of state's rights not of slavery. In fact it would make a rather poor sysmol of slavery having been involved with the end of that unspeakable practice.
In a scary but not surprising NY court descion described below the mother has been threatened with the possibility of losing her piece of joint custody presumably to the child's black father , mom of course is white.
Mom has a confederate flag painted on a rock in her yard. And ( controllism justification of the day) because the child is biracial this could effcet mom's custody. Yup!
These are the most controlling people I have seen in my entire life. There are so many of them in positions of power from all levels of government to courts to university , media, tech. I'm currently listening to a book by Ben Shapiro largely based upon his college days. He decribes terrible bias and even inciting violence and perversion by university professors back in the early 2000's. Stuff that is in some cases as over the top as what we see today. I know I took the $#@!s more lightly than I should have. but apparently I was not alone. Racism is the new religion I guess.
