Who knew that the Election Clause in the Constitution is subverting the system and voter suppression.

Show me where any individual right is violated when voting requirements are equal, universal within a State, and have provisions that will not be a financial burden on the poor. If anything new State provisions for early voting help both poor and working people plan ahead.

    I wonder...should I respond to your lies?

How come no one was concerned with the poor not being able to vote, before now?

No need to answer, we already know it's got nothing to do with poor or, any other people.

And you get the ID for free if you cannot afford it. There is no poll tax.

this is really big...We all need to let our representatives etc know that it goes way to far. One point; in the "pay" to individuals campaigns, from the Gov, it proposes to match "small donations " at a 6.1 to 1. The "commission" on funding will determine who gets the money...think there will be no gerrymandering of that???

All of these are opinion pieces designed to twist the results of any changes to ONLY mean the result would be to stop minorities from being able to get id's in order to vote. That is an absurd conclusion and highly insulting on its face. ID's are readily available to anyone and are required by dozens of other activities. Getting to the polls would be a cinch if BLM or Antifa would concentrate on getting those without transportation to the polls rather than burning down their communities. Only a moron would think these rules would do anything beyond giving everyone a sense of security in a fair election.

If you bothered to read any of the articles cited - articles that report FACTS, by the way...not opinions - there is very little attention given by them to the subject of photo ID cards. Several members have already chimed in on this thread assuming, wrongly, that any time voter suppression comes up that ID cards are what is being discussed. As I suggested earlier, educate yourself as to what is actually being discussed - what the legislatures are doing and why. Then, if you think you can defend or justify the legal barricades all these legislatures are erecting to keep as few young people and racial minority members from voting as possible, please do. Your opinion will then at least be an informed one.

This Dem legislation will also control how "primaries" are held. Why should DC decide on what is required for each States primary?

    From your first article:

Hundreds of bills nationwide target people of color whose full participation in future elections is seen by Republicans as a threat

This is a lie. Once you start with a lie it is hard to recover.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
