Peter, I must say it made for good reading. That being said, since they are retired they are certainly entitled to their viewpoint whether one agrees or not with them. This reminds me of the recent letter from 100 concerned republicans that are upset with the way the party is headed, it's just a viewpoint by 100 people. In both cases they each have one vote come election time and should cast their ballot for the person they feel best represents the interests of our country. Not sure how much weight either letter will carry with the American people but I'm sure we'll see over time what transpires.

Probably nothing will come of it.

The fact is if you asked these same people what Marxism is, you'd find they have no idea. Stupid people and the uneducated are easily led by slogan words in their mostly empty heads is a negative connotation they have been taught like Pavlov's dog. Dog Whistles control the right in America today.
