I understand that some may become addicted during legitimate pain treatment but only those of weak character do not break the dependency. On the other hand, the claims of my kid got addicted because he had his a sport injury, almost always becomes an admission of not being true and created out of embarrassment.

Big Pharma is responsible for, and was convicted of (some companies) of lying about the addictive nature of the drug. They said there was none so docs handed them out like candy.

Most people are not dying from prescribed opioids to include fentanyl. It is largely the ones buying off the legal market that are ODing.
