How Big Pharma made Americans addicted to opioids

" A new HBO documentary called ‘The Crime of the Century’ lays bare how firms like Purdue used bribery, dodgy marketing, and shady political deals to make fortunes by getting millions hooked on super-strong painkillers. What would it look like if an illegal international drug cartel were allowed to advertise? Perhaps it might take the form of slick music videos and glossy magazine ads promising an ‘end to pain’. Certainly, they would minimise the negative effects of their drugs on your life, your future, and your loved ones. If questioned about what they were doing, we can imagine them blaming those who use their drugs, not themselves for providing them. It sounds mad – madder still that anyone would believe them – but this is exactly what has been allowed to happen with large pharmaceutical companies and their marketing of highly addictive opioid drugs." .........https://www.rt.com/op-ed/523862-big-pharma-us-opioids/

Let’s not leave out the role of The Chinese Communist Party. The evil regime which controls every aspect of Chinese life can’t stop the flow of fentanyl from Chinese factories into this country. Go figure. But that’s par for the course with communist party evil is the name of the game

'We Are Shipping To The U.S.': Inside China's Online Synthetic Drug Networks

    ezgif-2-c5ad6fff268f.jpg

For years, China has been a primary source of fentanyl trafficked into the United States. It is a powerful prescription drug for severe pain that's made and sold illegally. It led to more than 37,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. in 2019, part of a national opioid crisis that has worsened this year during the coronavirus pandemic, according to federal health authorities.

Missouri's Fentanyl Problem: The China Connection

Based on reports from CDC Wonder data, county medical examiners, law enforcement agencies, and drug addiction prevention agencies, we conclude that IMF and related synthetic opioids arriving from China are primarily responsible for fatal narcotic overdoses in Missouri.

Why then , is fentanyl legal in the US , and used so widely by big pharma companies ? ...or is this just another case of attempting to blame someone else for something the US corporate sector has inflicted on America ?.......know your enemies , don't just imaginize them .

It is not "legal" in this country. It is a Schedule II prescription drug.

If you are an alcoholic then you are an alcoholic. The availability of booze did not do it.
If you are a drug addict then yuu are a drug addict because it is your character.

I understand that some may become addicted during legitimate pain treatment but only those of weak character do not break the dependency.
On the other hand, the claims of my kid got addicted because he had his a sport injury, almost always becomes an admission of not being true and created out of embarrassment.
