Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee have caved to Democrats’ demands for a 9/11-style commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.


GOP Rep. John Katko, the ranking member on the committee, led negotiations with the Democrats to reach a consensus about the commission. His support for the commission is being marketed by the corporate media as “bipartisan support,” but the New York representative is one of few Republicans in the House who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump the second time Democrats targeted him. Katko also blames Trump for causing the “insurrection” at the Capitol.



The commission does not have full GOP support. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy admitted he has yet to read the legislation, and other Republicans have objected to keeping the commission’s focus on Jan 6. instead of expanding it to all of the violence that occurred during the summer of rage riots last year.

Yes it was known that McCarthy tapped Katko to negotiate.



but the House GOP leader said he didn't sign off on the deal moments after it was announced.


But moments after Thompson's announcement, McCarthy said he had not approved the proposal, telling reporters that he wasn't even aware the press release was going to be sent Friday morning.


“That’s very concerning to me,” McCarthy said in response to being told that the commission would be limited in scope to the Jan. 6 riot.


"You've got to look at what the build-up before and what has gone on afterwards, otherwise the commission does not work," he said. He also accused Pelosi of having "played politics with this for a number of months."

Well he is a New York Republican. Not that Republicans will make some sort of difference in New York. Kind of like Chicago and Illinois and or Los Angeles.

I have never liked Republicans, most of them are Zionist. I was hoping Trump was different because of his bold talk. He was disappointing in some areas, but at least he opened some eyes. Would I vote for him again, NO.
