Wars will continue to be fought with a blend of old and new weapons. Every new offensive weapon generates new defensive weapons. New tactics will generate new responses to those tactics.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Read Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" which points out the need for advanced technology and "the mobile infantry" i.e. boots on the ground.
One problem with the United States is we are always "fighting the last war", i.e. using the weapons and tactics that worked in the last war we fought until we finally see what it will actually take to win. By that time of course there are hundreds, in not thousands, of dead American soldiers.

It is often touted by car enthusiast that racing improves the automobile. I submit that it not racing but combat that does so. Superchargers, rear view mirrors, disk brakes, self steering and much of the electronics on modern motor cars came about because of combat missions since WW1
