THE Lafayette Park clearing controversy a year ago wasn't for a photo-op. OH and the Bible wasn't upside down.

The IG investigation has been released;

*The evidence we obtained did not support a finding that the USPP [U.S. Park Police] cleared the park to allow the President to survey the damage and walk to St. John’s Church. Instead, the evidence we reviewed showed that the USPP cleared the park to allow the contractor to safely install the antiscale fencing in response to destruction of property and injury to officers occurring on May 30 and 31. Further, the evidence showed that the USPP did not know about the President’s potential movement until mid- to late afternoon on June 1—hours after it had begun developing its operational plan and the fencing contractor had arrived in the park.*

Well, Greenblatt is a Trump appointee and in reading his statement it appears that the operation to clear people was not communicated well and it took everyone by surprise. Having said that, it also looks like what Trump's people did, was take advantage of the clearance for the photo op, which looked like Trump had everybody cleared so he could pass: the timing of it was what set up any confusion. I'm sure that the report will be looked into further, so I wouldn't claim victory just yet.

Why did they bring him anywhere while that clearing was going on? What was Trump's purpose?

The medias narrative was/is debunked jet57. The clearing of the protesters from the Park was for the protection of the Park. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

They didn't. They brought him to a secure area while the BLM protestors were trying to breech the fences around the White House.

Trump making this appearance at the church symbolized that the White House had cleared and secured the area. It was a statement that the protestors will not win. They didn't win.

Well, I for one, am glad they got to the bottom of it. When we wanted contractors to come in to erect fencing, we had almost no problem clearing the protestors. Tear gas, helicopter blade wake and no shortage of "police". So then, at the very least, we should get to the bottom of the January 6th company picnic, even if the buck ends up stopping on the desk of picnic chairman. Agreed?
