General inflation in the US is due to massive liquidity caused by government spending at unprecedented levels. Those who claim it is a short term reaction to the end of the lockdowns are likely supporters of this massive government spending.

This is just idiotic. The Democrats have not done anything to limit current supplies of anything. Demand is outstripping supply because we’re in the middle of a significant increase in economic activity after 15 months of stagnation. Much of this will pass as supply catches up with demand.

Democrats are always doing something to limit supplies, whether it's through onerous taxes and regulations or pushing millions of people out of the labor market. You people are an absolute disaster. You will do to the entire country what you did to Detroit if allowed to.

It's amazing how you guys think that canceling a pipeline that hasn't even been built yet can cause spot market oil prices to go up. In fact, West Texas crude petroleum spot prices are still considerably lower than they were in 2018.

Although our shipping crate supplier gets his lumber directly from the mill and his prices have doubled. They also refuse to quote and will price you when you are ready to place the order.

Unfortunately, most people don't have access to 'direct from the mill'. While we do have several local mills, not everyone has access to the trees for the milling either. So, back to having to depend on whichever big box or lumber yard for your supplies.....

A co-worker started building a house 13 months ago. Quotes were only good for 10 days then, and then dropped to 5 days. They are lucky that they locked in when they did, they said they couldn't afford to finish it off if they were paying today's prices for materials.

Doing some repair/replacement on my wellhouse.
I went on Wednesday and bought 5 2x4 8'ers. They were up from 3.79 last year to 7.99.
I needed one more, so when I went back Thursday, those same 3x4's were 10.31.
