Critical Race Theory’s Poisonous Roots Trace Back To Harvard University......

Plenty of writers have explained the main tenets of the theory, some in great detail. But where did it come from? How did an obscure academic theory come to dominate the national political conversation in only a few years?

The answer to these questions lies in the origins of the theory. Critical race theory emerged from one of America’s foremost institutions: Harvard University. Tracing the history of critical race theory reveals just how intimately connected it is with America’s most prestigious university.

Borrowing from Italian Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci, who posited a theory of “cultural hegemony” by the capitalist ruling class, a group of Ivy League law professors developed a school of thought called “critical legal studies,” synthesizing Gramsci’s theory of hegemony with racial classification. The most important thinkers of the group of critical legal theorists were all Harvard Law professors: Derrick Bell, Roberto Unger, Duncan Kennedy, and Morton Horwitz.

The main tenets of the philosophy included that justice is inherently subjective, the law is nothing but a political tool, and the system will only ever provide good outcomes for the wealthy and privileged. Their proposed solution was to overthrow Western liberal society. To this point, Unger wrote:.....snip~

The root of the problem is the loss of racial consciousness among large swathes of the white population. Race matters regardless of how you may feel about it. The sooner you understand that the better.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Matsuda, at the time also a Harvard Law student, went on to argue that Asian Americans must join the black American battle against the “racial bourgeoisie,” that is, white Americans. In other words, using the ideology she and the other critical race theory progenitors helped develop while at Harvard, Matsuda accused white people of being an oppressor class and called for their overthrow within a Marxist framework......snip~

Charles Murray’s forthcoming book: ‘Facing Reality: Two Truths about Race in America’

My AEI colleague Charles Murray (F. A. Hayek Emeritus Chair in Cultural Studies) has a new book coming out on June 15 titled “Facing Reality: Two Truths about Race in America.” Here’s the description from Amazon:
The charges of white privilege and systemic racism that are tearing the country apart fIoat free of reality. Two known facts, long since documented beyond reasonable doubt, need to be brought into the open and incorporated into the way we think about public policy: American whites, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have 1) different violent crime rates and 2) different means and distributions of cognitive ability. The allegations of racism in policing, college admissions, segregation in housing, and hiring and promotions in the workplace ignore the ways in which the problems that prompt the allegations of systemic racism are driven by these two realities.

What good can come of bringing them into the open? America’s most precious ideal is what used to be known as the American Creed: People are not to be judged by where they came from, what social class they come from, or by race, color, or creed. They must be judged as individuals. The prevailing Progressive ideology repudiates that ideal, demanding instead that the state should judge people by their race, social origins, religion, sex, and sexual orientation.

We on the center left and center right who are the American Creed’s natural defenders have painted ourselves into a corner. We have been unwilling to say openly that different groups have significant group differences. Since we have not been willing to say that, we have been left defenseless against the claims that racism is to blame. What else could it be? We have been afraid to answer. We must. Facing Reality is a step in that direction.

John Hinderaker, Power Line blogger (and president of the Center of the American Experiment) who writes that “Charles Murray must be the bravest man in America” for taking on another controverisal issue that is sure to generate both intense praise and criticism. Here’s more from John:
Leftists obsessed with race generally only want to talk about two races, black and white, even though those categories are increasingly intermingled, with an occasional nod toward American Indians and “Hispanics,” a meaningless term concocted for the purpose of affirmative action in the U.S. But they prefer never to mention Asians. When liberals talk about income gaps, I like to ask why they think Asians, on average, earn so much more than whites, and what they think the government should do to correct that disparity.

As of 2019 Census Bureau data, whites are 15th among ethnic groups in median income, trailing not only just about every Asian minority, including Iranians and Pakistanis (see chart above). The case for American “white supremacy” is ludicrously weak, but it may be a capital offense to point that fact out. I hope Charles Murray has the means to hire armed guards, and I hope Encounter Books can withstand whatever crackdown may be coming from the now-fully-regnant Swamp.

The other problem defined. You can't teach them the truth. You can't argue/debate them to the truth. You can't get them to accept the truth. Leaving only one solution to solve the problem.

Asians, by and large, have no interest in doing so not least because Asian immigrants are more likely to be well educated and skilled than other immigrants. I think Murray's numbers are off a bit (perhaps substantially) because I don't know if household size (more earners, more income per household) and who exactly is included in the definition of "White" being used.

Not Murray's data but John Hinderaker's. It's drawn from US Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) data. All I can find at https://www.census.gov/library/publi...o/p60-270.html is this more generalized view:

Part of Murray's intro from Amazon reads:

Once again Ron DeSantis has shown that he is the only government official truly concerned about this country. He and the Florida Legislature have signed into law a bill banning the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Florida schools. Way to go Ron!
Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

Specifically "Italian Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci."

Antonio Gramsci: the Godfather of Cultural Marxism

There’s little debate that modern-day American universities, public education, mainstream media, Hollywood, and political advocacy groups are dominated by leftists. This is no accident, but part of a deliberate strategy to pave the way for communist revolution developed more than eight decades ago by an Italian political theorist named Antonio Gramsci.

Described as one of the world’s most important and influential Marxist theorists since Marx himself, if you are not familiar with Gramsci, you should be.

The Italian communist (1891 – 1937) is credited with the blueprint that has served as the foundation for the Cultural Marxist movement in modern America.

Later dubbed by 1960s German student activist Rudi Dutschke as “the long march through the institutions,” Gramsci wrote in the 1930s of a “war of position” for socialists and communists to subvert Western culture from the inside in an attempt to compel it to redefine itself.

Gramsci used war metaphors to distinguish between a political “war of position”—which he compared to trench warfare—and the “war of movement (or maneuver),” which would be a sudden full-frontal assault resulting in complete social upheaval....

It's infiltrated academe, the government, corporate HR, and our public schools.
