Internet outage

I am currently using my cell phone as a hot spot. One of the components of my Internet equipment (Verizon) crapped out. So I have a router near the TV in the bedroom. I have something that looks like a router up in the loft next to my desktop, but I think it acts as a range extender. The one in the bedroom is 4g and the one in the loft is 5g. They both work, I think, but they are from 2017 and probably need to be replaced.

There is another box that is fairly big in my outdoor utility closet. I am not sure what it is, but I think that is what crapped out.

Verizon can't get a tech out until Sunday late afternoon. I can't do much about it. If I wanted to change providers it would be COX, and I hear their customer service is worse than Verizon. Or satellite, and I can't easily do that with the Condo HCA rules; I likely couldn't place it anywhere useful.

Have you tried unplugging the two boxes inside your condo and then plugging them back in, so that they both reboot?

Yes. When I called Verizon last night they walked me through that and other things and determined it was their box in the outdoor utility closet that was crapped out. They claim they won't change me for the service call.

Never heard of it. I know my condo community is only pre-wired for Verizon and COX.

Routers and boxes crap out all the time here. Prolly rebuilt stuff.
By far AT&T outperforms Verizon here by miles. T-Mobile is non functional.

U-verse is the ticket for multi-package.

It's cable based and fiber optics here. There are still a few occasional problems and AT&Tnever charges for them.
But cable based internet like Cox, Fidelity, Charter, is pure crap out here!

They have new lines on the poles but are too stingy to replace the 25 year old line running from the pole box to your house.

Pete, you might want to try a tablet for posting(or most anything else) . That will always work on any Wi-Fi , even your neighbors. Lol. If you get in a bind. A good neighbor will give you the password. Or just single line it or add a line(Like 20 dollars) to your phone bill.

Then you can use it either way.
4gLTE , 5G, or WiFi.

Verizon has at least a customer outreach. They just called to ask what they could do to make things right. I certainly didn't expect that.

They just did. The problem is outside of my condo. They have to call in another contractor.
