    Sarafina Nance

According to the Yahoo/News blurb on my phone Sarafina Nance is an Egyptian American who is pursuing her dream of going to Mars after a double mastectomy. I am very glad for her. Going into space was always a dream of mine but at 76 I think that is long past. However I take exception to several points of the article.

First and foremost is identifying her as an Egyptian American. She was born in Austin Texas and is of Egyptian heritage but she is an American period. I am of Italian/English heritage but I identify myself as an America. What was the point of calling her Egyptian American when she was born a citizen of this country.

Secondly, I am not sure why the double mastectomy is relevant to this article. It had nothing to do with her decision to become involved in Astro Physics and would seem to me to be rather personal.

Other than that, more power to her and I hope she gets to Mars someday.

it gets confusing, man.........they want to be inclusive, but the first thing they do is segregate themselves. Not just from whites either,
Here's an undeniable fact. Damn near everyone of us are mutts. That's not a downplay. Mutts are the smartest and most loyal. They share the traits of mutts, blended into the final product: An American. You live on American soil. Some of have spilled blood for this soil.
Yet, there are those who would destroy it all by trying to be other-American. It wouldn't be so bad, but they want what I worked for.
    I ain't selling and I ain't buying that crap.
All of this is for shock value and to see the emotional result.

She has had cancer. Being exposed to more radiation can't be good.

Why can't we celebrate her goals and scientific accomplishments?

No, everything has to be about some form of victimhood and suffering unjustly these days along with a good dose of identity politics.

What I understood from the article she hasn't had cancer, her father did and when tested she found she had an 85% chance of getting breast cancer, she is now down to 5%. Angelina Jolie did the same.
