Ive been doing most all the work around the house for a year and a half...I always contributed but not to the extent I have to now..
I always liked to cook, so thats not a problem...I clean the main areas that get dirty the fastests...I clean the bathrooms every couple of days and the kitchen daily....I wash all the clothes sheets and towels....
I have a cleaning person some in every two weeks and does all the other cleaning...I do the floors in the bathrooms and kitchens...she does a great job and does all the rest...
I bought a robot 8 months ago...I never thought it would work and I said ehh I can return it...I bought a roboroc
It vacuums and mops...this was a last years model, originally it was 799.00 new the new current model is 899.00 I paid 429 for mine...and I am incredibly impressed on what it picks up...I DID NOT BELIEVE IT but it actually mapped my entire house after 4 cycles...it goes under my desk, If I put up the dining room chairs and kitchen chairs it does under the tables...
It really works...I have never used the mopping function...Oh Ive run it right after my cleaning person leaves..and she if very very good at her job...I run the robot and its container is FULL of dust ...If I run it the next day its full again...I have no idea where it finds it all..
I do all the ironing also

My youngest son moved back in for a few months when he was between jobs. He was in his mid-20s at the time. It happened to be when I was just getting out of physical rehab after my bout with pneumonia and sepsis, so I needed a lot of help and he was around to provide it. Everything from running errands to cooking and baking. (I miss his incredible puff pastry bacon cookies.) Unbeknownst to his mother and me he was networking his butt off seeking a new position the whole time he was here and he eventually moved to D.C., worked till the job he was hired for was over, then found an even better job there after only a month or two of being unemployed. He's in a good place now, loves his job and has made some good friends, so of course we couldn't be happier for him. (I miss the grilled cheese sandwiches he used to make for me, too. Boy, they were good.)

Ive got 2 friends in this situation.
One is a stay at home dad after he was injured while firefighting. He loves it and his wife is a teacher so she brings books home for him read to his kids. He does all the house work of course.
The second friend has no kids, married a slightly older woman who is wealthy. He does the housework but he's been hen pecked to death. I've known him for close to 30 years and its like his soul has been crushed. The few times I visit she makes it a point to belittle him just because. Hes got no real skills after he got out of the navy. Out of the blue he tells me he's going to design apps for children. He supposedly did that for 5 years and never did get anything to show for it.
