Thus, eight months was a fair sentence. It's about justice, not vengeance.

Insurrectionist-backers should note that the eight months is the least any insurrectionist should hope for. If justice is served, the violent ones should get sentences in the 20-year range.
Maybe if you say "insurrectionist" again, it will come true.

This man was responsible for nearly taking over the country. If it wasn't for the Capitol Police bravely shooting the unarmed Ashli Babbitt we would all be eating salmon and speaking Norwegian right now. So Eight months for participating an an action that was worse than the attack on the country that brought us into WWII, the first attack on the United States since WWII and the war that claimed the lives of over 600,000 Americans. Just?

"Obstructing an official proceeding" Sounds like a catch all crime for embarrassing important people. But had the charges thrown around by dems , democrat officials not random fringe members been true he'd be in a dark hole somewhere with no due process.
Must be the judge believed in old fashioned factors like the truth and following the evidence. Good for Ted Cruz who was accussed of attempted murder by a federal politician and it turned out neither she nor Ted were even in the building. What I am trying to say is that the thing was exxaggerated just a bit by supposedly credible sources. The OP is a clever way of pointing that out.
Shocking that the media with all their "journalistic integrity" didn't make the same point isn't it?

Apparently to the left "Obstructing an official proceeding" is as serious as three events that caused the deaths of nearly 80 million people. So 8 months should cover it.

As Mamooth pointed out, the guy said he was sorry. If only Mussolini apologized...

If this was really an insurrection 8 months doesn't seem plausible. The charge even sounds like they were searching for what law he broke. Vs illegal entry, B&E , and some sort of "domestic terrorism " Maybe lying to a fed?
To me it just doesn't line up with being called a "Insurrection" or creating a "Constitiutional Crisis" or the attempted murder of AOC. I think the party and the media took a lot of liberty in describing what happened.
I look at it as a riot and while I understand the frustration that lead to it I can't condone it. Anymore than I can condone the dozens of riots that went on last year. I don't see the same justice being sought though.

It was just another riot...but since it involved DC's building where congress was it has been magnified to benefit the Dems. More serious than Pearl Harbor is another made up lie.

The same people who want to call it an "insureection" support the legislators from Texas who abandoned the jobs they were elected to do...and went off the vacation and party in DC. They are the same ones who think having thousands of illegals coming into and being allowed to stay is a good thing. Hell, they even want to put an "amnesty" as part of a so called infrastructure Bill.

Dems equal tax, tax, tax and spend, spend, spend...not the public, not the people who are trying to support a family, who actually work.

Well said. From a riot standpoint it was rather weak. Once they got inside they sort of fell apart. It's almost as if the got in, looked around and said "holy $#@!, we're in!...now what do we do?"

For those who might not know what you're referring to, Ted Cruz tried to murder AOC! (According to AOC).
